The standard foam insert can mark, chip or expose its core over time. Aqua Maniac uses poly-resin to create a more substantial decorative wall with crisp rock, root and stone detail.

All three designs use tough poly-resin, but they create different visual weight and use different amounts of internal space.
Amazon Design
A deep brown root-and-rock relief, approximately 4–6 cm thick, for a dramatic forest-floor appearance.

Straightforward installation
Flat at the back, detailed at the front
The rear of each panel sits flat against the terrarium glass. Dry-fit first, then use silicone suitable for terrarium use and seal the edges carefully. A properly fitted perimeter prevents crickets and other feeder insects from finding an open route behind the background.
Choose the slim 2 cm rock designs where internal space matters most, or the deeper Amazon Design when pronounced relief is the priority.

How are Aqua Maniac backgrounds different from the original foam insert?
Aqua Maniac backgrounds are made from hard poly-resin rather than exposed polystyrene foam. They are hard to scratch, water-resistant and heat-resistant, with a detailed hand-finished surface.
Can crickets hide behind the background?
The panel has a flat back. When it is fitted against the rear glass and the perimeter is properly sealed with suitable silicone, there is no open cavity behind it for feeder insects to enter.
Which design saves the most space inside the terrarium?
Thin Beige Rock and Thin Grey Rock are approximately 2 cm deep, so they preserve more usable enclosure space. Amazon Design has deeper relief of approximately 4–6 cm for a more dramatic root-and-rock effect.
How do I install a 3D terrarium background?
Dry-fit the panel first, clean and dry the glass, then bond and seal the flat rear face with a silicone suitable for terrarium use. Allow it to cure fully according to the silicone manufacturer’s instructions before adding animals.
Can I use one with a bearded dragon, gecko, snake or frog?
The background is a decorative enclosure component used in many reptile and amphibian setups. Always plan heat, humidity, ventilation and furnishings around the needs of your particular species.
